Every coastal house needs this Time and Tide Clock. Not only does it look great, but it's also hand crafted in the UK from recycled vending machine coffee cups. The resulting recycled material has a lovely solid, heavy feel like slate.
How does it work?:
1. Set the hand to the full tide position at exactly high tide for your chosen location.
2. The quartz driven hand will rotate every 12 hours and 25 minutes around the recycled coffee cup fascia, giving you the state of the tide at a glance. This design also provides an indication of how many hours remain until high or low water.
Synchronised to the moon’s daily cycle, the tide clock gives you an easy guide to tides, whilst also providing conventional time keeping.
Dimensions: 200cm x 200cm, Wall mounted
Based near Truro in Cornwall, UK, Ashortwalk was the creation of product designer/inventor, Dan in 2003. Dan left his previous position as a product designer for Dyson and moved to Cornwall to realise his two dreams: to set up his own business and live ‘ashortwalk’ from the sea.
The last ten years have seen Ashortwalk’s range expand exponentially. In addition to their signature tide and time clocks, Ashortwalk also offer an extensive range of ECO products including house numbers and house signs, as well as unique tableware.
“The key to staying competitive in the global market from a shed in Cornwall has always been to design and manufacture unique, functional products. We are no longer in a shed, but our philosophy is still the same............ and most importantly we are ashortwalk from the beach.......... just!”
