The Herschel Solar Print Kit will expand your imagination of what silhouettes you can capture on this cool light sensitive photographic paper using just the sun and water.
In 1892 John Hershel published research on the use of iron compounds with light-sensitive materials. This was a critical step in the creation of the Cyanotype, also known as the Solar Print.
By explosing materials coated with iron salts to sunlight, this innovative photographic technique resulted in the creation of striking blue and white images, similar to the unique images you can create using Herschel Solar Print paper.
How does it work?
1. Select an item, such as a flower, leaf or anything else you'd like to capture the silhouette of - get creative!
2. Please your selected item on the special paper and leave it in the sun
3. Rinse with water and marvel at the unique image you have created!
Each kit contains:
- 12 pieces of 10cm x 10cm light sensitive blue paper sheets
- 1 x 10cm x 10cm acrylic sheet
