My Favourite Quote: Goran Zivanovic, author

“If you’re going through hell, keep going.” – Winston Churchill

This quote resonates with me because of its simplicity. It’s not the torture of mental and physical pain that keeps a person bogged down during distress; it’s the isolation. Feeling alone and unsupported during this walk on hot coals is the most crippling form of hell. However, when you see that puddle of icy water up ahead, you also notice people on the sidelines cheering you on.

Goran Zivanovic authored the controversial novel, Acupuncture of The Mind, out of respect for those going through hell.

My Favourite Quote: Annette Densham, PR Specialist at www.publicitygenie.com

“‘People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.’

In business there are so many people spruiking themselves as experts. Buy my course. Do my program. Learn my secrets. But people actually want to know you care about them first. This reminds me that in everything I do ot must come from a place of caring; not what’s in it for me.”

My Favourite Quote: Lori Cheek, www.cheekd.com

“My favorite quote that keeps me fueled every day of my entrepreneurial journey:

‘You just can’t beat the person who never gives up.’ – Babe Ruth

Determination is the absolute number one characteristic required for an entrepreneur to succeed. After building my dating business, Cheekd, for over eight years, I’ve got a laser-focused vision to succeed and will do almost anything to keep this business flourishing. When most people would have quit, I only hustled harder. I think my personal approach, passion and dedication mixed with my relentless conviction that failure is not an option has been the recipe that has lead to my success. I could definitely be the poster child for the age-old phrase “what doesn’t kill you can only make you stronger” but no matter what… in the end, I’m going to have a magical story to tell.”

Lori Cheek is an architect turned Entrepreneur, Founder and CEO of Cheekd a mobile dating app that makes missed connections obsolete. Learn more at www.cheekd.com

My Favourite Quote: Mazdak Mohammadi, founder of blueberrycloud

“My life-changing quote was received at a very young age (around 4-5) and it came through a poster my parents at pinned to my wall. I don’t believe an author was cited however, it read as follows:

‘I can because I think I can.’

The quote resonates with me because it reflects what I believe to be true about my role in life. I have always looked at obstacles with a fire that says “I can because I think I can”. This attitude has found me success in my life, and it is one of my most powerful mental tools.” – Mazdak Mohammadi

Mazdak Mohammadi is the owner of blueberrycloud, a digital marketing studio based in Vancouver, Canada. . Mazdak has helped hundreds of local small, and larger brands exploit the unique opportunities available to them within the arena of digital marketing. My Favourite Quote: Lois Letchford, author

“‘Well, he’s the worst child I’ve seen in twenty years of teaching!’. This statement was made by the school diagnostician in Brisbane (Australia) about my son, Nicholas. He was 7 years old. My son failed first grade and the diagnostician who did the IQ testing made this statement. I responded with “If he is the worst kid ever, then don’t expect him to learn like everyone else!”. I taught my son to read and write, on May 12 2018, he received his PhD in Applied Mathematics from Oxford University.” – Lois Letchford
